A: Digital Phone is the name for Bright House Networks home phone service. Digital Phone works with your existing phones and outlets, and in most cases you can keep your same phone number

2. Q: Does Bright House Networks Digital Phone work like my home phone? 
A: Digital Phone works just like any regular home phone service. You can make local and long distance calls and use a fax machine, alarm system, dial-up Internet and anything you use your home phone to do. Digital Phone also offers the services you expect like directory assistance and international calling.

3. Q: What is my calling area and what is the charge for Bright House Networks Digital Phone? 
A: Digital Phone Unlimited Nationwide lets you can call anyone, anytime, anywhere in the continental U.S., Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Guam, The U.S. Virgin Islands, and N. Mariana Islands as frequently as you would like for as low as $39.95 per month when combined with other Bright House Networks services. Digital Phone Unlimited Indiana provides unlimited calling at any time within the state of Indiana for as low as $29.95 per month when combined with other Bright House Networks services.

A: Yes. Bright House Networks Digital Phone offers competitive International rates for your use.

6. Q: Can I use my calling card for long distance calls with Bright House Networks Digital Phone? 
A: Yes, calling cards can be used with your Digital Phone service. With Bright House Networks Unlimited Nationwide calling plan, you have no need for calling cards because it includes unlimited long distance calling in the U.S. (including Alaska and Hawaii), Guam, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands and N. Marianna Islands for as low as $39.95 per month (plus taxes and fees).

7. Q: Will my Digital Phone work during an electrical power outage? 
A: Bright House Networks home phone service comes with battery-powered backup. During an electrical power outage, your home phone service will be available as long as the battery-powered backup stays charged, and your cable connection is not affected.

8. Q: Can I call 911 using Bright House Networks Digital Phone? 
A: Yes, absolutely. Enhanced 911 (E911) services are supported. In case of a power outage, 911 access and other Bright House Networks Digital Phone features may not be available.

9. Q: Can I order Bright House Networks Digital Phone for my business? 
A: At this time, the Bright House Networks Digital Phone service is a residential service only.

10. Q: How do I arrange for the installation of Bright House Networks Digital Phone? 
A: To order Bright House Networks Digital Phone call 317-972-9700 or 765-662-0071 in Marion, IN. A customer representative will help you with your Digital Phone service order and schedule your installation.

11. Q: If I need a service call, will Bright House Networks provide support? 
A: Bright House Networks provides complete support for all of the services we provide, including Bright House Networks Digital Phone. Our technical support personnel are available to you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, accessible by simply dialing 611 from your Digital Phone service or your local customer service number.

12. Q: Will I be provided a detailed breakdown of my summarized international, Directory Assistance and Operator Services call activity? 
A: Yes. You can access your call details online at mybrighthouse.com.

13. Q: Can I block telemarketing calls? 
A: Yes. Simply register with the National Do Not Call Registry at www.donotcall.gov and your Digital Phone number will be excluded from most telemarketing calls for five years.

14. Q: How many phone lines can I have with my Bright House Networks Digital Phone Service? 
A: You may have a total of two Digital Phone lines. A second line is available for an additional cost per month. You can subscribe to the Unlimited Nationwide plan if you have Unlimited Nationwide on your first line, or the Unlimited Indiana plan.

Frequently Asked Questions – Repeat Dialing *66

  Q: What is Repeat Dialing? 
A: Repeat Dialing is a feature that will allow you to automatically redial local calls when your first attempt reaches a busy number.

  Q: How do I activate the Repeat Dialing feature? 
A: Once you make a call and receive a busy signal, you can activate Repeat Dialing by hanging up your phone, picking up the receiver again, dial *66, and then hang up your phone again.

  Q: How long will the Repeat Dialing feature attempt to reach a busy number? 
A: The Repeat Dialing feature will attempt to reach the last called party for 30 minutes. Once the last called party’s line becomes available, the customer’s phone will ring and their call will be automatically connected to the called party’s line.

  Q: Can I cancel Repeat Dialing? 
A: Yes. If you do not wish to wait the entire 30 minutes for Repeat Dialing to attempt to reach the last called party, you will have the opportunity to cancel the Repeat Dialing feature sooner. In order to cancel Repeat Dialing, you must pick up your phone receiver, wait for a dial tone and dial *86 to deactivate the feature.

  Q: Will Repeat Dialing work if the caller is located in another state? 
A: Repeat Dialing will only operate for calls to landline phones within your local calling area.

  Q. Will Repeat Dialing work for US or international long distance calls or calls to 8xx or 9xx? A. No. The Repeat Dialing feature will not operate for calls to US long distance (within state or out of state), international numbers, 8xx, or 9xx telephone numbers.

  Q. Will Repeat Dialing work for calls to wireless phones? 
A. No. Repeat Dialing does not work for calls to wireless phones.

  Q: Can I still use my phone to make and receive calls? 
A: Yes. You can continue to use your phone as normal to make and receive phone calls while Repeat Dialing is attempting to reach your last called party.

  Q: Is there an additional fee to use the Repeating Dialing feature? 
A: No. The Repeat Dialing feature is included as part of Bright House Networks standard universal features for all Digital Phone customers.

  Q: What happens if the last number called is busy for more than 30 minutes? 
A: If the last number called is busy for more than 30 minutes, the Repeat Dialing feature will automatically be deactivated.

  Q: Can I use Repeat Dialing to place calls to more than one busy number at a time? 
A: Yes, although you must activate Repeat Dialing on a call-by-call basis.

  Q: How often does Repeat Dialing attempt to reach the last party called? 
A: The Repeat Dialing feature will attempt to reach the last party called every 30 seconds for 30 minutes.

Frequently Asked Questions – Call Return *69

  Q: What is Call Return?  
A: Call Return is a feature that stores the number of the last person that called and will allow you to automatically dial the caller back.

  Q: How do I activate the Call Return feature?  
A: In order to activate Call Return, you must dial *69. A voice recording will then provide you with the telephone number, date and time of the last caller and will provide you with an option to press “1” to automatically call the last caller back.

  Q: What happens if I dial *69 and the last incoming call number is busy?  
A: If you call back a number that is busy by pressing “1”, the system will automatically continue to redial the number for up to thirty minutes. Once the receiver’s line is available you will hear a distinctive ring on your phone. You can then pick up the phone; the phone will ring the last call back number you are trying to reach and the call will be connected.

  Q: What is a distinctive ring?  
A: A distinctive ring is a special short-short-long ring on your telephone line.

  Q: Is there an additional fee to use the Call Return feature?  
A: No. The Call Return feature is included as part of Bright House Networks standard universal features for all Digital Phone subscribers.

  Q: How can I cancel the *69 Repeat Dialing feature?  
A: If you do not wish to wait the entire 30 minutes to reach the last calling party to your phone number, you will have the opportunity to cancel the Call Return feature by dialing *89 at any time.

  Q: Will Call Return work if the last calling party has Caller ID blocking turned on?  
A: No. The Call Return feature will not function if the caller has Caller ID blocked.

  Q: Will Call Return work if the caller is located in another state?  
A: Call Return will only operate for calls to landline phones within your local calling area.

  Q. Will Call Return work for US or international long distance calls or calls to 8xx or 9xx?  
A. No. The Call Return feature will not operate for calls to US long distance (within state or out of state), international numbers, 8xx, or 9xx telephone numbers.

  Q. Will Call Return work for calls to wireless phones?  
A. No. Call Return does not work for calls to wireless phones.

  Q: If the last calling party has forwarded their calls to a different number, can I still use the Call Return feature?  
A: No. The Call Return feature will not operate if the last calling party has forwarded their calls to another telephone number.

  Q: Can I continue to make calls during the 30 minutes that the system is trying to contact my last calling party?  
A: Yes. You can still make and receive calls, a distinctive ring will signal when the last calling party line becomes available.

  Q: When will the Call Return feature stop attempting to reach the last person that called?  
A: The Call Return feature will automatically deactivate after 30 minutes.
