Digital Phone Star (*) Codes
(*66) - Repeat Dial/Automatic Callback
Allows a Customer to have their last outbound call automatically redialed when their first attempt reaches a busy number by pressing (*66). The system will monitor the busy line the customer has called for 30 minutes.
Automatic Callback – Repeat Dialing is activated as follows.
- The user calls a remote station, receives a busy signal or no answer, and hangs up.
- The user lifts the handset again, and listens for dial tone.
- The user enters the (*66).
- The user hangs up the phone.
- The system will attempt to reach the called party for 30 minutes. Once the called party’s line becomes available, the customer’s phone will ring (using a distinctive ring) and their call will be automatically connected to the called party’s line

(*67) - Caller ID Block
If you have chosen to reveal your identity when placing calls and wish to be anonymous for a particular call, press (*67) before you dial to block your identity from the other person's Caller ID.
How: Press (*67) before you call.
- Block your identity from the Caller ID of the person you're calling.
- Included Caller ID is restored when you hang up.
(*69) - Recall Last Number Dialed
Automatic Recall - Call Return allows a Customer to hear the number of the last incoming call and then automatically connect to that number by dialing (*69).
Automatic Recall – Call Return is activated as follows:
- The user receives a call (ringing) from a remote station. The user either answers the call (and then hangs up after the call), doesn’t answer the call and the call goes to voicemail, or doesn’t answer the call and the caller hangs up without the call transferring to voicemail.
- After the user receives the call, answers it and hangs up, or doesn’t answer it - the user lifts the handset and listens for dial tone.
- The user presses *69.
- An announcement is heard that tells the user the number of the last party that called and gives the caller the option of returning the call by pressing “1”.
- If the user presses “1”, the number of the last party called is automatically dialed.
- Call Return will not work for calls that have been forwarded to another number, international numbers, 800 or 900 numbers.

(*70) - Call Waiting
You're on the phone when "Beep!" you have another call. (Is it important?) With included Call Waiting ID, the identity of your second caller flashes on your Call Waiting screen.
How: Use a Caller ID-enabled phone or an external Caller ID box.
- When your phone is in use and a second call comes in, the second caller's identity appears on the screen.
- To put the first call on hold and take the second, press FLASH or quickly press the switch hook.
- To put the second call on hold and go back to the first one, press FLASH or the switch hook again.
- If you hang up on one call, the phone will immediately ring to remind you that the other caller is still holding. Just pick up the phone to connect.
- If you don't answer the second call, it will go to Voice Mail. If you don't have Voice Mail, the caller will hear the ring tone.
(*72) - Call Forwarding
Now you can forward your calls to an alternate number by using Call Forwarding.
How: Press (*72)
- Press (*72); listen for three short beeps and then a dial tone; enter a 1 plus the 10-digit number (1-518-xxx-xxxx, for example) where calls will be forwarded.
- After a stutter tone or stuttering dial tone, the system will automatically place a courtesy call to the forward-to number. If the forwarded-to party answers the courtesy call, the feature is activated.
- If at set-up time the forward-to line is busy or there is no answer to the courtesy call, the feature is not activated. You can still activate Call Forwarding by repeating the activation procedure within two minutes of the first attempt.
- You will hear an error message if the forward-to number is invalid.
- Calls will continue to forward to the chosen number until deactivated.
- If you have Voice Mail, your calls and calls that would turn into Voice Mail will continue to go to the forward to number thereby bypassing Voice Mail.
- You must remember to deactivate Call Forwarding by pressing (*73) and waiting for a stutter tone or stuttering dial tone.
(*74) - Speed Dial
Now you can call frequently dialed phone numbers using just one digit.
How: Press (*74)
- Press (*74); listen for the stutter tone and choose a digit from 2 to 9.
- Enter the 7- or 10-digit number (dialing 1 first whenever it applies) that will be speed dialed and wait for confirmation tone.
- Press the chosen digit (from 2-9) followed by the # (pound) sign and the system will speed dial the telephone number that correlates to the chosen digit.
- You can store up to eight numbers at one time.
- To change any of the stored numbers simply repeat the process with the new desired telephone number.
(*77) - Anonymous Call Reject
Allows you to block unwanted calls from callers who restrict sending their Caller ID information such as “Anonymous” callers.
How:
- Dial *77 to activate and wait for a stutter tone or stuttering dial tone.
- All unidentified calls will then be rejected.
- You must Dial *87 to deactivate this feature and wait for a stutter tone or stuttering dial tone.
Notes:Voice Mail subscribers who activate this feature along with Caller ID Block (*67) must use their Voice Mail access number, instead of their home phone number, to access the Voice Mail system from home.
(*82) - Caller ID Restore
If you have chosen to block your identity when placing calls and wish to reveal your identity for a particular call, press (*82).
How: Press (*82) before you call.
- Your identity will be shown on the Caller ID of the people you call.
- When you hang up, your identity will revert to a blocked ID.
(*98) - Voice Mail
*98 allows a customer to access their Voice Mail fast and easy by pressing just three numbers on their phone. * 98 is a standard feature of the Digital Phone package and is offered at no additional cost.
How: Press (*98) you will immediately be connected to your Voice Mailbox.
- A customer can dial * 98 from their home phone and connect instantly to the Voice Mail system.
- * 98 allows the customer to access both new and saved messages.
